Study on current situation and influencing factors of nurses' professional quality of life in intervention operating room

Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the current situation of nurses' professional quality of life among intervention operating room nurses and analyze its influencing factors, in order to provide suggestions for improving the nurses' professional quality of life of intervention operating room nurses.

Methods

From September to December 2022, convenience sampling method was used to select nurses from intervention operating rooms of 8 hospitals in Guangdong Province. A survey was conducted using a general data questionnaire and a professional quality of life questionnaire. Multiple linear regression was performed to identify influencing factors of professional quality of life among intervention operating room nurses.

Results

A total of 105 questionnaires were distributed in this survey, and 99 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective recovery rate of 94.3%. The scores of professional quality of life among intervention operating room nurses were: compassion satisfaction (35.48 ± 6.34) points, burnout (29.17 ± 6.13) points and secondary traumatic stress (25.87 ± 5.16) points. Gender, years of nursing work, years of intervention operating room work, average monthly income and the number of emergency and critical care centers were the influencing factors of nurses' professional quality of life (P < 0.05).

Conclusion

The professional quality of life of nurses among intervention operating room is generally at a moderate level. It is suggested that nursing managers in the intervention operating room start with the factors affecting professional quality of nurses in order to improve the professional quality of life of nurses in intervention operating room.
