Abstract:

Obstructive jaundice is a common clinical hepatobiliary disease. If patients with related symptoms are not treated promptly and effectively, the massive accumulation of bile can rapidly cause liver and kidney failure, coagulation dysfunction, and even threaten patients' lives, in addition to manifesting yellow sclerae of the skin. Percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage (PTCD) is an effective means of relieving biliary obstruction and draining bile, but infection is a common complication after PTCD, which may affect the patient's prognosis and may cause perioperative death in severe cases. In this paper, we review the factors influencing postoperative infection in PTCD in pursuit of a better prevention and control of postoperative infection and improve the survival rate of patients.

Key words: PTCD, Obstructive jaundice, Infection, Antibiotics, Prognosis
