Abstract:

Acute ischemic stroke is the most common cerebrovascular disease, which is characterized by high mortality and high recurrence rate, and seriously endangers human health. Multiple studies have shown that the lateral branching of the leptomeningeal after ischemic stroke is a strong predictor of the prognosis of ischemic stroke. In other words, patients with good collateral circulation have a good clinical prognosis, while those with poor collateral circulation have a bad clinical prognosis. In recent years, many scholars at home and abroad have conducted in-depth studies on the formation mechanism and imaging evaluation of collateral circulation. In this review, several methods of neuroimaging assessment around collateral circulation are reviewed as follows.
