Abstract:

Objective:

To study the short-term and long-term therapeutic effects and survival of interventional microsphere embolization in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) invalid after chemotherapy.

Methods:

NSCLC patients (105 cases) who failed after chemotherapy during August 2011 to September 2015 in Angang General Hospital were as interventional embolization group (group A) , treated with embolization of bronchial artery using embosphere transcathter, re-examined after 3 months and re-embolized when necessary. NSCLC patients (76 cases) in our hospital during the same period were selected as chemotherapy control group (group B) , and treated with PE regimen and MIC regimen. The two groups were reviewed and evaluated every 3 months.

Results:

The effective rates of groups A and B were 74.3% and 45.5% (P=0.025) . The median survival time was 14.5 months and 11 months in groups A and B, respectively (P=0.042) .

Conclusion:

There are statistical difference between two ways. It is effective and safe for NSCLC failed by chemotherapy using interventional microsphere bronchial artery embolization.
