Application of 3D iGuide system for radiofrequency ablation induced by Dyna computed tomography in hepatocellular carcinoma

Abstract:

Objective:

To evaluate the feasibility and safety of the 3D iGuide system for radiofrequency ablation (RFA) induced by Dyna computed tomography (DynaCT) in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Methods:

Nineteen patients with hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing TACE treatment in PLA General Hospital from September to December 2016 were examined by DynaCT scanning with 3D iGuide technique to guide RFA and were evaluated using success rate, intraoperative and postoperative complications, and local treatment effect.

Results:

The success rate of the technique was 100%, and the intraoperative and postoperative complication was mainly pain. There was no serious complication. After one month of the operation, the imaging findings were evaluated including complete remission (CR) of 17 cases and partial remission (PR) of 2 cases.

Conclusions:

3D iGuide puncture technology is safe, effective and easy to treat patients with large hepatocellular carcinoma in DynaCT guiding RFA, which is highly feasible and provides a new guidance for RFA treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
