Abstract:

Objective:

To investigate the clinical effect of auto-analgesia pump in alleviating postoperative pain of uterine artery embolization.

Methods:

46 patients with uterine scar pregnancy were enrolled in this study. These patients were randomly divided into two groups: observation group (n=23) and control group (n=23). The patients in the observation group were IV infused with auto-analgesia pump immediately after UAE while the patients in the control group were treated with paclitaxel hydrochloride (50 mg) and isoproterenol(25 mg). The visual analogue scale (VAS) of the two groups at different times (0, 4, 8, 16, 24, and 48 h) was compared to evaluate the degree of the pain. The Brinell comfort score (BCS) was also used to evaluate the comfort degree yet both two groups showed poor responding.

Results:

The VAS score and BCS score of the observation group were not statistically significant (P> 0.05), the VAS score was lower than that of the control group at 4, 8, 16, 24 and 48 h after operation, and the difference was Statistically significant (P <0.05). BCS scores 4, 8, 16, 24, 48 h in the observation group were higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Adverse reactions were significantly less than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).

Conclusion:

The auto-analgesia pump can be effectively used in UAE, which can reduce the degree of postoperative pain and improve the comfort and satisfaction of patients.
