Abstract:

Objective:

To investigate the diagnostic value of 3.0T magnetic resonance LAVA-FLEX sequence in detecting pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Methods:

12 patients with pathologically proved pancreatic adenocarcinoma were enrolled in this study, whose imaging data of LAVA-FLEX and conventional sequences and DWI preoperative with 3.0T MRI prior to surgery were analyzed in terms of the sensitivity and specificity.

Results:

8 cases showed long T2 signal, 2 showed slightly long T2 signal, and 2 showed even T2 signal. All 12 cases showed high signal in DWI, and the same signal intensity in T1WI. LAVA-FLEX showed low signal in all 12 cases, indicating an obvious advantage over the conventional T1WI.

Conclusions:

LAVA-FLEX as a new technology sequence, has similar specificity and sensitivity as DWI in diagnosis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and it can replace the conventional T1WI, Fat-saturation T1WI and 3D dynamic enhanced T1WI.
