Abstract:

Objective

To explore the clinical effect of foam sclerotherapy of polidocanol and high ligation of great saphenous vein combie with cavity laser surgery for varicose vein of lower extremity.

Methods

A total of 60 cases (66 diseased limbs) of varicose vein of lower extremity patients were randomly divided into two groups, A group treated with foam sclerotherapy of polidocanol (n=30, 33 diseased limbs) , B group treated with high ligation of great saphenous vein combie with cavity laser surgery (n=30, 33 diseased limbs). The operation time, hospitalization expenses, the incidence of complications and the treatment effect were compared.

Results

The operation time and hospitalization expenses of A group significantly lower than B group, there was significant difference (P<0.01) ; The incidence of complications of A group including ecchymoma, sense of paralysis, subcutaneous infection and skin burns were lower than B group, there was significant difference (P<0.01) . There was no significant difference in occurrence rate of phlebitis between two groups (P>0.05). There was no significantly statistical difference in treatment effect of two groups (leaving hospital, after 3 months, after 6 months, after 1 year) (P>0.05).

Conclusions

Foam sclerotherapy of polidocanol is a microinvasive, fewer complications, safe, effective treatment for varicose vein of lower extremity.
