Clinical value of ultrasound-guided polidocanol foam sclerotherapy for renal cysts

Abstract:

Objective

To explore the clinical value of ultrasound-guided polidocanol foam in sclerotherapy of renal cysts.

Methods

Analysis of our hospital from January 2019 to June 2020, 42 cases of renal cysts, ultrasound guided polidocanol foam sclerotherapy, all patients at 1, 3, 6, 12 months after operation regular follow-up ultrasound, according to the reduction rate of cyst to evaluate the curative effect.

Results

42 renal cysts of 42 patients were followed up 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after operation.The cure rates were 11.9%, 35.7%, 42.9% and 59.5% respectively; The total effective rates were 59.5%, 83.3%, 92.9% and 100.0% respectively. Cox multivariate regression analysis showed that the size of cyst volume was the main factor affecting the therapeutic effect of polidocanol.

Conclusions

Ultrasound guided polidocanol foam sclerotherapy for renal cyst is safe and effective, the longer the follow-up time is, the more effective the treatment is, and the smaller the cyst volume, the more accurate the curative effect is,which is worthy of clinical application.
