Curative effect of uterine artery embolization combined with mifepristone in treatment of hysteromyoma

Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate clinical effect of uterine artery embolization combined with mifepristone for the treatment of tumor of hysteromyoma.

Methods

A total of 93 patients with hysteromyoma were analyzed, of which 48 patients treated by uterine artery embolization combined with mifepristone (treatment group), and 45 patients treated by uterine arterial embolization only (control group). The clinical effects of two methods were compared.

Results

In the treatment group, cure was shown in 5 cases, getting better in 28 cases, having effect in 13 cases, invalid in 2 cases, the total effective rate was 68.75% (33/48). In the control group, cure in 3 cases, getting betler in 17 cases, having effect in 21 cases , invalid in 4 cases, the total effective rate was 44.44% (20/45). The total effective rate in treatment group was higher than that in controlgroup (P<0.05).

Conclusions

Uterine artery embolization combined with mifepristone in treatment of uterine myoma uterus can improve the efficiency .
