老年人前列腺增生可以引起膀胱出口梗阻,导致下尿路症状。外科手术切除前列腺或经尿道前列腺电切术仍然是目前的主要治疗方法,然而手术创伤大,而且有较多的术后并发症。本文就前列腺动脉栓塞新技术的进展和现状进行综述。

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) may lead to bladder outflow obstruction and cause lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in older men. Surgical intervention such as prostatectomy or transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) remain mainstay in alleviating these symptoms, however, these are operator dependent and often come with significant complications. In this review, we will discuss prostatic artery embolization (PAE), a new technique, in management of BPH.
