Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical efficacy of a comprehensive application of β-adrenoceptor antagonist inhibits as a basis for the treatment of infantile hemangioma, and to discuss its sequential treatment options.

Methods

A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of children with hemangioma who underwent β-adrenoceptor antagonist or combined with other treatment regimens in our department from May 2013 to May 2018. A total of 1 691 patients were followed up for 6 months, including 541 males and 1 150 females, 213 superficial types, 328 deep types, and 1150 mixed types. According to the principle of treatment, the topical use of timolol eye drops was applied 6 months ago, and erythema was assisted by laser treatment after 6 months; deep-type and mixed oral propranolol tablets, tumor diameter More than 3 cm combined with transcatheter arteriosclerosis embolization.dynamic observation and recording of the THE size, texture and color changes of hemangioma were dynamic observed and recorded, Adverse reactions during treatment were observed and treatedt. The patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months, with an average of 13 months. The short-term efficacy was evaluated by a 4-level scale.

Results

Among the 1 691 children, 1 051 (62.2%) were grade Ⅳ (good), 392 (23.2%) were grade Ⅲ (good), 211 (12.5%) were grade Ⅱ(middle) and Grade Ⅰ(poor) in 37 cases (2.1%). The overall effective rate was 85.3%. Adverse reactions include ulcers and scars in 16 cases (0.9%), residual fat connective tissue in 11 cases (0.6%) and epidermal atrophy in 8 cases (0.4%).

Conclusions

The comprehensive sequential therapy based on β-adrenoceptor antagonist is a safe and effective treatment for infantile hemangioma with low side effects and is worthy of clinical promotion.
