Abstract:

Traditional diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) can diagnose brain lesions and abdominal organs, but it has limitation to diagnose lesions in tissues with rich microcirculation, such as the kidney. Diffusion-weighted images of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM-DWI) remedy the deficiency through separated function, and play a supporting role in the assessment of renal function and the diagnosis of chronic and neoplastic nephropathy. This article discussed the clinical application of IVIM-DWI and principle in detail.
