Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the safety of interventional therapy via right subclavian artery approach.

Methods

A total of 106 patients (14 males and 92 females) with an average age of 40.36 ± 13.06 years, who received interventional therapy through right subclavian artery approach in our center from July 2014 to May 2021, were retrospectively collected, including 66 cases of gynecological interventional therapy, 6 cases of thrombolysis with lower limb venous thrombosis and 30 cases of thrombolysis with lower limb arterial embolization. 3 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma were treated by interventional therapy,1 case was treated by other interventional therapy.

Results

105 patients were successfully catheterized, the success rate of catheterization was 99.05%, and 1 failure patient was successfully catheterized for right lower limb artery embolization by replacing left femoral artery approach. No serious life-threatening complications occurred in all cases, and 1 patient diagnosed chest wall hematoma after puncture, which was healing after compression and discharged.

Conclusions

Interventional therapy via right subclavian artery is safe and convenient procedure, postoperative patients do not need to lie in bed, with high comfort and convenient nursing, especially suitable for the patients who need continuous thrombolysis and continuous arterial infusion chemotherapy.
