Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the feasibility and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous biopsy in the diagnosis of splenic lesions.

Methods

The Clinical data of 23 patients with splenic lesions treated by ultrasound-guided percutaneous biopsy from July 2015 to July 2020 in our hospital was retrospectively analyzed.

Results

The success rate of the technique was 100%, 17 cases (73.9%) were diagnosed definitively, 6 cases (26.1%) were diagnosed pathologically. Complications included abdominal hemorrhage (8.7%, 2/23), pain at the puncture site (21.7%, 5/23), abdominal distension (4.3%, 1/23), and fever (4.3%, 1/23). No deaths were reported.

Conclusions

Ultrasound-guided percutaneous biopsy is safe and feasible for the puncture of splenic lesions.
