Qualitative study on the experience of health education with individualized mind mapping in stroke patients

Abstract:

Objective

To explore the experience of health education in stroke patients with individualized mind mapping.

Methods

Ten stroke patients in an upper first-class hospital in Guangdong Province were selected. Using the phenomenological research method in the qualitative research,the data were recorded by semi-structured interview, collated and analyzed according to Colaizzi analysis method, and the theme was extracted.

Results

The experience of the health education with individualized mind mapping in stroke patients can be summarized into three themes, namely, mind mapping helps to improve stroke knowledge, promote healthy behavior, and mind mapping can be a tool to spread health knowledge.

Conclusions

The individualized mind mapping can help stroke patients to master the knowledge of stroke, promote the healthy behavior, and enhance the communication between patients and their families and friends.
