Embolization treatment of limb soft tissue vascular malformation with giant venous hemangioma

Objective

To explore the efficacy of interventional embolization for treatment of limb soft tissue vascular malformation with giant venous hemangioma.

Methods

The clinical data of five patients with the limb soft tissue vascular malformation with dominal venous hemangioma treated by embolization with coils and bucrylate were retrospectively analysed. Bucrylate was used in complex vascular malformation to completely embolize abnormal vessels, which could block blood supply of multiple arteries and prevent construction of collateral circulation.

Results

The abnormal vasculars were embolized completely in all five cases, and there were no recurrence followed-up for 1-3 years.

Conclusions

Interventional embolization is a less invasive,simple and credible therapeutic method for the treatment of limb soft tissue vascular malformation with giant venous hemangioma.
